Writer’s Guide

Thank you for your interest in writing for Holy Joys. We exist to exalt God and the beauty of Scriptural holiness. Read more about our mission and core values.

Content Guidelines

We are firmly committed to the full inerrancy of Scripture and the Wesleyan understanding of sin, salvation, and sanctification. Submissions should be well-researched, constructive in tone, and grounded in the gospel.

Scripture should be used with careful consideration for Biblical context. Whenever possible, consulted sources should include published works from the Wesleyan tradition of faith. Recommended online resources include The Wesley Center Online and Christian Classics Ethereal Library.

Please be conscious of our basic formatting requests:

  • Single-spaced Word or Pages document
  • One empty line between paragraphs
  • No indenting
  • Recommended length of 1200 words
  • Times New Roman or Helvetica font, 12 point
  • Short paragraphs (preferably no more than eight lines)
  • Footnotes (if any) included in brackets (e.g. [1] and NOT superscripts) with a corresponding numbered list at the bottom of your article.
